HEAVEN'S BREAD - A WORD IN DUE SEASON

HIS PEACE IS OUR PEACE

In every circumstance of life we have a choice to make:  walk it out in peace or fear; calm assurance or inner turmoil; struggle or rest.  Christ declared to His disciples before His departure:  "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14:27 KJV)  The world would not be our source, only He.

He walked this earth and experienced the challenges of hatred, religious bigotry, threats, injustice, ridicule, betrayal.  Even those He chose  to walk with Him and share in ministry, turned their back on Him.  Any of these situations would be enough to disturb one's peace.  Yet through each challenge He faced, He never responded in fear nor did He return evil for evil.  Even at the point of His final challenge on the cross He said: "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34 KJV)  He trusted His Father to bring good out of His pain and ultimate triumph over evil.  In the midst of such brutality against Him, His trust enabled Him to have peace.

Jesus warned His disciples in John 16:33: "These things I have spoken unto you, that IN ME ye might have peace.  In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world."  What threat can overtake the believer in Christ?  What circumstance can defeat one of His own?  He has already overcome it ALL!  Be of good cheer!  HIS victory is our victory.  HIS peace is our peace.  All through trusting in Him.
